My new found watch obsession.

Like an extremely large number of the female population I too feel in love with the Michale Kors watch collection. Their rose gold watches stand out and easily make any outfit more accessorized and girly. Being me however as much as I like them I have never wanted one enough to want my own, I find they can be a bit blingy for me, so recently when I stumbled accross this watch here I immediately feel in love ...
The simplicity of this watch stands out to me and makes this watch sophistocated and classy. It also comes in the rose gold colour however I love the gold, very easily wearable by anyone. Just beautiful ahhhh.
As you can see from this side angle, the face of the watch isn't build up high which I LOVE. I have noticed with many of the Michael Kors that the face is quite bulky which puts me off. Isn't it quite perfect? This watch is available on Asos.

Another watch I have been loving is this large faced watch from Olivia Burton.
Again, a very simple but beautiful watch. I think this watch is wearable day or night and I absolutely adore the rose gold detailing in the watch face, so pretty.

Lastly I have added in one Michael Kors watch, this is one of the double strapped watches.
The double strap is a gorgeous addition to this watch. The tan colour screams to me that this is a daytime watch however I love the gold and tan combination, it is something I wear a lot of.

So if you're coming up to a special occasion and want something a bit special I urge you to take a peak at these, and give some subtle hints ;);)

Cheering up the mundane

You know when you begin to just plod along in life where everything is okay but nothing of much excitement goes on? That's when life needs shaking up a bit! Since coming back to uni after exams there hasn't been a whole lot going on, I often find myself focusing on the negatives and not really letting myself thrive and enjoy life the way I know I should and this makes me sad. For this reason I've decided to focus on the positives and the little things that cheer me up.

The main thing I have done to give myself the boost I need is to book a weekend away. My fiance and I  always talk about going away but we don't often get round to booking things. When I have something in the not too distant future to look forward to it always puts a spring in my step, makes all the work feel somehow worthwhile. We have booked to go away to Thirsk and stay in a log cabin lodge with its own hot-tub. We have been talking about coming here for SO long so I'm so excited to have it booked. We don't go until March but I'm already counting down! How cosy and perfect!? I will probably post about our time there after we come back :)

The next thing I have decided has been something I have wanted to do for a long time but I haven't got round to for one reason or another and that is having a proper exercise routine. At one point last year I got into a great routine and it made me feel fab! If anything booking this weekend away may just be the push I need to get the fitness going (hot-tub bikini!!!) so starting next week it is all going down. I feel as though when you exercise, as well as making you feel great about yourself, it also gives you a feeling of accomplishment which we all need to keep us upbeat. I have recently got myself into a really great eating healthy routine and this will just compliment it perfectly! I have devised a do-able routine the I know won't be too straining and will fit in with my uni timetable so I have no excuses!

The last thing I have down to cheer myself up is of course some retail therapy! It had been too long since I treated myself to anything new in the clothes department so when I recieved my parcel in the mail I was very excited. Although I didn't order anything too exciting (poor student) it is always just nice to have something new to wear. Asos always hits the spot when it comes to retail therapy!

And don't forget about the little things, sitting down with a hot cup of tea, watching your favourite TV program, sitting by the fire, cooking your favorite meal, taking a hot relaxing bath, burn a candle or seeing a loved one. These are all sure fire ways to perk up your day in some small way.

So if you're feeling a bit glum right now, do something about it. What excites you? What makes you happy? Go do it x

My Beauty Staples | JadeSykes

Over the years you try out many products until you find that one you just can't do without. I've been wearing make-up for a good few years now and in that time it's safe to say i have tried a whole bunch of make-up products, some being absolute pants, but many of which I love! For me I have never had the money to splurge ouT on high end make-up so its always been high street brands bar a few clinique splurges! I'd like to also say that the price doesn't always mean quality! Different brands have different strengths and weaknesses. This is why I'm here to tell you my faves!

Starting with my most important beauty products - mascara and foundation!

These are definitely two of my mOst bought products and my favourites are both from L'Oreal Paris.

My eyelashes are rather short and straight so a good mascara is essential for me. There are a few mascaras which I love but for quality and affordability my go-to mascara is the L'Oreal Paris Cosmetics Telescopic False Lash Effect MascaraAlthough I'm often put off by plastic applicators this one, for me, is an exception. It's shape makes it nice and easy to use and most importantly gives my lashes length and curl.

My second most important and well bought product is foundation. The foundation I currently use and have repurchased for the last couple years is the L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique. I find its formula is very silky and not thick, rubs in well and gives me good coverage. Since I've found this foundation I've never looked back. Top marks L'Oreal.

As for eyeliner, my favourite type of eyeliner to use is gel eyeliner. I absolutely LOVE the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. Although it comes with a brush, the brush that I have found works well is the fine liner brush from Real Techniques. Might I mention I love this brand of brushes! The formula glides on the eye well and is highly pigmented making it easy to achieve your desired look. It also lasts a long time despite looking like such a small pot!

Pencil eyeliner was in school a must have, everyone wore it the same way and you could not go to school without it, for this reason I managed to purchase a fair few! I tried many and I've got to say, a lot on the market I found no good. I ended up purchasing a mac liner which was great but very pricey so I was always hunting for a cheaper alternative and voila here it is., the Topshop coal eye-liner  A steal at only £4, it's very soft and lasts well.

I have not long been a particular eye-shadow wearer HOWEVER when at duty free earlier this year I picked up the popular urban decay naked 2 palette. You may think its maybe a little pricey but let me tell you, it's well worth the money. It contains a lovely range of highly pigmented colours perfect for everyday make-up to night out make up. I also use it for my eyebrows and the brush that comes with it works great (however I don't own any expensive brushes so some may not agree). Anyway I absolutely love this product and had to mention it because it is no doubt one of my most used products now and has led me on to give eye-shadow a go, so cheers urban decay!

Hope you love these products as much as I do!
